Important safety notice
PathRealm is not a navigation, rescue, emergency communication, accident warning, or
personnel monitoring service. Never rely on map positions, team relationships, distances,
directions, or spoken reports as your only basis for personal safety.
1. Nature and Scope of the Service
PathRealm is an independently developed software product that provides member location
sharing, route and team relationship analysis, team messaging, and spoken reports for
group activities such as cycling, motorcycling, running, and hiking.
PathRealm provides supplemental information only. Results depend on device positioning,
connectivity, system permissions, server availability, and algorithmic inference. They do
not replace road signs, professional navigation, direct observation, leader instructions,
emergency communications, or professional rescue services.
2. Eligibility and Authorization
- You may use only devices, activities, locations, and content that you lawfully own, control, or are authorized to use.
- Before joining a team, confirm that you are authorized by the invitation sender or activity organizer.
- If you use PathRealm for an organization, team, or another person, obtain all necessary authorization and explain the scope of location sharing and message visibility.
- Minors should use PathRealm only with a guardian's guidance and consent. Guardians should assess the risks of outdoor activity, precise location sharing, and team membership.
3. Location Sharing and Team Visibility
When location sharing is enabled during an activity, your precise location, direction of
travel, speed, and related information are sent to PathRealm servers. The information is
used to show your location to members of the same activity, calculate team relationships, distances,
and team status, and generate related reports.
If you permit background location and the activity remains active, PathRealm may continue
to obtain and upload location while the App is not in the foreground. You may disable
location sharing in the App, leave the activity, or revoke location permission in system
settings. Network delay, offline queues, and client caching may mean that a stop-sharing
update is not instantaneous.
An invite code acts as a credential for entering a team. Share it only with people you
trust. Other members of the same team may see your display name, activity state, and
location-related information.
4. Outdoor and Road Safety
- Follow local traffic laws, road controls, venue rules, and other applicable laws.
- Do not hold or operate a phone while driving, riding, or moving quickly, or allow a screen or spoken report to distract you.
- Make your own safety decisions based on weather, roads, physical condition, equipment, traffic, and the surrounding environment.
- For accidents, missing persons, or emergencies, immediately use official local emergency services and reliable communication methods.
5. Limits of Positioning, Algorithms, and Spoken Reports
GPS drift, obstruction, device differences, upload cadence, network interruption, clock
error, and complex roads can make member positions and tracks inaccurate, delayed, or
unavailable.
Teams, team leaders, joining or leaving a team, relative order, distance, and direction are
algorithmic inferences from limited data. They can be wrong, change repeatedly, or fail to
produce a result. Spoken reports can also be delayed, duplicated, omitted, or inconsistent
with real-world conditions.
You and your teammates must rely on direct observation and reliable communication. Do not
use PathRealm inference alone to overtake, turn around, wait, chase another member, or
change route in a way that may affect safety.
6. Team Messages and User Content
You are responsible for display names, text messages, and optional location attachments
you submit. Messages may be shown to teammates and converted into recipient-specific
spoken text based on language, units, and relative location for playback on their devices.
Do not submit unlawful, infringing, threatening, harassing, fraudulent, malicious, or
inappropriate content, and do not use PathRealm to track, harass, or harm others. Do not
place passwords, verification codes, financial information, or unnecessary sensitive data
in team messages.
7. Third-Party and Regional Services
PathRealm depends on operating-system location services, internet connectivity, map
content, and cloud infrastructure. Map content is currently provided by MapTiler, while
device positioning is managed by operating-system providers such as Apple. Third parties
may change their interfaces, policies, coverage, or availability, and PathRealm cannot
guarantee their continued operation.
The service region selected when creating an activity, or encoded in an invite, determines
the principal business server. Confirm that the region is suitable for your team and
understand that use across regions may involve international data transmission.
8. Availability and Changes
PathRealm may be interrupted, degraded, or changed because of maintenance, upgrades,
network failure, third-party changes, capacity, security incidents, or force majeure. We
do not guarantee uninterrupted service or permanent availability of any historical feature.
When reasonably practical, material changes will be announced in the App, on the website, in notices, or in release notes.
9. Data and Privacy
PathRealm should process information only as necessary to provide the service, maintain
security, and troubleshoot problems. Read the Privacy Policy
for details about precise location, team messages, diagnostics, retention, regional
servers, and your controls.
10. Intellectual Property and Restricted Use
PathRealm and its interface, name, icon, copy, design, code, and related materials are
protected by applicable intellectual-property laws and belong to the developer or their
respective rights holders.
Without authorization, you may not unlawfully copy, sell, resell, maliciously distribute,
bypass security controls, interfere with servers, scrape at scale, attack by reverse
engineering, or use PathRealm to violate law or the rights of others. This restriction does
not prohibit conduct expressly permitted by applicable law.
11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
PathRealm is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent
permitted by law, the developer makes no express or implied warranty of uninterrupted
service, perfectly accurate positioning, correct algorithmic results, complete or timely
reports, guaranteed message delivery, accurate map content, or fitness for your particular
purpose.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, liability is excluded or limited for loss caused
by positioning or algorithmic error, network or device failure, third-party changes,
teammate conduct, leaked invite codes, failure to follow safety notices, force majeure, or
other events beyond the developer's reasonable control.
These Terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded and do not restrict
mandatory consumer rights.
12. Suspension, Exit, and Termination
You may stop using PathRealm, revoke location permission, leave a team, or uninstall the
App. An organizer may end an activity they created. PathRealm may limit or terminate use
that is unlawful, unsafe, attacks the service, or seriously violates the rights of others,
to the extent reasonably necessary.
13. Updates to These Terms
These Terms may be updated for product, data-processing, compliance, or legal changes. The
effective date will be shown on this page, and material changes will be communicated by
reasonable means. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the
updated Terms.
14. Contact and General Provisions
Headings are for convenience only. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the
remaining provisions remain effective. Disputes should first be addressed through good-faith
communication and, if unresolved, handled by a competent authority under applicable law.
