Ask the organizer to confirm the activity is still running, and check the complete invitation code for missing characters. Check your internet connection. If joining still fails, note the error message and time, then contact support.
What's the difference between leaving and ending an activity?
A member leaving affects only that member. When the organizer ends the activity, it ends for the whole team. Check the action before confirming, and check that the App has left the activity screen afterward.
Location sharing & tracks
Why can't teammates see my location, or why has it stopped updating?
Check that you are still in the activity and location sharing is on. Check location permission, Precise Location, and your internet connection. See whether positioning recovers in an open area; buildings, tunnels, and obstructions may affect it.
If this happens only when the screen is locked or another app is open, check whether the system allows background location for PathRealm. Note whether PathRealm was in the foreground or background when the issue occurred.
Can I attach my location when location sharing is off?
No. When location sharing is off, you cannot attach your location to team messages, and the manual team-update announcement is unavailable. Turn location sharing back on to use these features.
What if my track has gaps, jumps, or long straight lines?
Check location permission, connectivity, and location sharing. If the issue continues, note when it started, whether you toggled location sharing, and whether the screen was locked. Include a screenshot with sensitive locations hidden. Never operate your phone while driving or moving to troubleshoot an issue.
Smart Awareness & voice announcements
Smart Team Awareness
Stay aware of your group without repeatedly checking the map. When PathRealm confirms a change in your traveling group, or a significant change in your distance from the nearest teammate ahead or behind, it announces the relevant position, distance, and speed.
When will you hear an update?
When your traveling group forms: Hear who is nearest ahead and behind, and how far away they are.
When you move to a different group: Hear a group-change announcement followed by your new teammates’ relative positions.
When you leave your group and continue on a route alone: Receive a reminder to check the route.
When the gap to your nearest teammate ahead or behind changes significantly: Hear the updated distance and speed for that direction.
When members join, rejoin, or leave the activity, or the activity ends: Hear the corresponding update.
Updates you might hear
Group formation or a significant distance change
Nearest ahead is Alex, one hundred twenty meters away, moving at twenty five kilometers per hour.
Moving to a new group
You have left your previous group and joined a new group. Nearest behind is Sam, fifty meters away, moving at twenty kilometers per hour.
Leaving your group and continuing alone
You have left your previous group. Please check the route.
Member and activity updates
Sam joined the team. The cycling activity has ended.
Why doesn't every change trigger an announcement?
Members of the same activity may travel in separate groups. Position announcements describe your own traveling group, rather than periodically listing everyone in the activity. A change in who is nearest ahead or behind does not, by itself, trigger an announcement. Position awareness requires location sharing. Actual announcements depend on location data, connectivity, language, and unit settings.
“You have left your previous group” describes a change in your traveling group, not leaving the activity. Tap “Report Team Status” to request the nearest teammates ahead and behind in your current group; it does not list everyone in the activity.
Auto-Play Team Messages
Hear incoming teammate text messages without opening the message screen. When a message includes an available location, the announcement also describes the sender's position relative to you.
A message with an attached location
Sam says: Let's wait at the next junction and head out together. Sam is about two hundred meters ahead of you.
Are Smart Awareness and team-message auto-play the same setting?
No. Smart Awareness provides automatic voice updates about team dynamics. Team-message auto-play reads incoming text messages aloud. Check the corresponding setting and access to premium features. Turning message auto-play off does not affect text messages or unread badges.
What if I can't hear an announcement, or think one was missed?
First check the triggers above to see whether an announcement is expected, then check your premium access and the relevant switch. Member joining, leaving, and activity-end announcements belong to Smart Team Awareness and also depend on that switch and premium access.
Check the relevant playback setting, speech language, phone volume, and whether audio is going to Bluetooth headphones or a car system. Once safely stopped, try a manual announcement and note whether you can hear it.
If you suspect a missed announcement, tell us the approximate time, your nickname, what you expected to hear, and what you actually heard. This helps distinguish settings and audio-output issues from announcement-content issues.
Diagnostic logs
How do I record and send diagnostic logs?
While in an activity, open diagnostic log management in Settings, enable diagnostic recording, reproduce the issue, then send the logs and check for a success result. Sending logs requires an active activity and diagnostic recording to be enabled.
If you have already left or cannot send logs, email the available error messages and screenshots instead. Do not repeat an unsafe action just to capture logs. Read the Privacy Policy before sending diagnostic information.
PathRealm does not replace on-site judgment or emergency assistance. Stop safely before troubleshooting. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
